The path of JDs Domes began when Joe Downer found the Monolithic website (www.monolithic.com) while still a high school student in Bethalto, IL.  Being fascinated with home construction, Joe went on to get an A.A.S in Computer Aided Design \ CAD Technology. In college, working with Solids Modeling programs like MicroStation and AutoCAD, he learned a lot and eventually landed a job in the Drafting field. While working at Winchester Engineering in East Alton, Illinois he learned another software called ProEngineer, it was an expensive yet advanced Modeling Software. Less than a year in the Drafting field he found himself troubleshooting computer problems and doing tech support. That career change put him on a completely different path then originally planned. After changing jobs and pursuing a career in the Information Technology field he continued to watch and follow the Monolithic Dome’s evolution.

After 10 years in the IT field, computers were no longer the passion they once were and JDs Domes was born.
